David Lee Sadtler has gone to his eternal home to be with our Savior, Jesus Christ, on February 27th, 2021.
He was born on September 19th, 1952 in Pasadena, Texas to David McLain and Rhea Baccus Sadtler. After completing school in LaPorte he entered the U.S. Army on November 11th, 1971. Before enlisting he met the love of his life, Clara "Anne" Dybala. It wasn't long until they were married on February 24th, 1973, and the two of them drove off into the sunset to begin their life together in Fort Benning, Georgia. Their lives were blessed with two beloved children, Jacob and Julia who gave him the opportunity to be a caring father. David has always said that one of his biggest accomplishments of his life, was having his children.
He enjoyed many hobbies; always working with his hands as a Mr. Fix It, coaching his son's little league team, cooking for various occasions and volunteering with the Knights of Columbus. David thoroughly enjoyed all that the great outdoors had to offer, as well as spending time with family and friends.
His careers included: working for Service Transport, working for Brown and Root as a millwright, serving as a Houston police officer, and managing for Rice Tec, Inc.
David attended RCIA at St. Helen and became a Catholic which made all the difference in his life.
His witty comebacks and great sense of humor brought much laughter to us. His foresight and strong opinions guided his decisions and made an impression on others. Yet his tough exterior could not hide his heart of gold. May our loving husband, father, and Papi rest in peace. The love he shared with us will remain in our hearts until we meet again.
David is survived by his wife, Anne Sadtler; children Jacob Sadtler and wife, Alicha, Julia Patterson and husband, Vince. Seven precious grandchildren whom he loved dearly: Katelyn, Dylan and Madyson Sadtler Blakely, Savannah, Caroline and Beau Patterson. His sisters, Diane Clary, Debbie Towry; brothers, Dennis Sadtler and Doug Sadtler; sister-in- law, Marie Dybala and husband Scott Carothers. Nieces and nephews and their children, as well as many beloved relatives and friends.
