Preston Paul Marques was born on December 28, 1930 and passed away on December 11, 2010. He would have been 80 years old on December 28th. Preston was survived by his wife, Margarette Cunzalo, His sons Doug Marques, Mark Marques, and his daughter Denise Williams. His grandchildren are Stephanie and Andrew Williams and Blake Marques. He was a resident of Pearland, TX.
Preston joined the United States Marine Corps, in January 1949. He retired as a Lt. Col on August 31, 1971. He was a pilot and flew in the following aircraft: SNJ, T-34, T-28, TV-2, F9F-5, F9F-8, AD-6, A4D, F30, EF-10B, RF-8A, RF4B, R4D, C-45, T-33, T-39A, C-117, EA-6A, US-2A, C-54, with a total flying time of 3287. 3 hours.
After Retiring from the Marine Corps, he spent several years working for the State of California, Employment Development Department, where he retired in 1983. He married his Rosa Trimbolli in January of 1953 at Corpus Christi Church in San Francisco, CA. Rose was not only a great wife, but an ideal military wife, taking over the functioning of the household when he was on tour. Rosa passed away in 1994. He married Margarette Cunzalo in August of 2001.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday December 15th at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 6502 County Road 48, Manvel, TX 77578.
