Obituary for Mike Duron Lopez
Mike Duron Lopez went home to be with our Lord on January 22, 2016 after a short battle with cancer. He is preceded in death by his parents Gonzalo and Juana D. Lopez; siblings: Tomas, Cruz, Luis, Gabriel “Chatoâ€, Maximino "Chano", Adela, Carolina, Sister Florencia CDP, Paula Rangel; and his loving wife of 45years Irene Flores Lopez. He was born on October 26, 1931 in Sugarland, Texas. He served in the United States Marine Corps in the Korean War and was made a corporal before his honorable discharge. He is survived by his wife of 11 years Maria Guadalupe Espinoza Lopez, his siblings Rafaela Aguilar, Genoveva Rios, and Charlie Lopez, his children Cindy Ann lopez Garcia (George), and Michael Anthony Lopez (Caroline), grandchildren Michael Anthony, Kimberley Ann, Andrew George, and Gabriella Marie; great-grandchildren Presley Micaela, Mikah Aubrey and Gemma Ann. He is also survived by his step children Alfredo Espinoza (Lori), Lina Esquivel (Ricardo), Elena Hilje (Mark), Rosalba Norman (Chris), Alejandra Duron (Andy), and his step grandchildren Andrea, Matthew, Christina, Haley, Alicia, Aaron, Olivia, Diego, Joaquin, and Javier.He was a very dedicated Knight of Columbus serving as treasurer for his council at St. Helen Catholic Church in Pearland Texas. He was also a 4th degree knight and faithful servant in numerous capacities every Lent season. A visitation will be held on Monday January 25, 2016 from 5-9pm with a rosary to be recited at 7pm at Morales Funeral Home 2901 Canal St, Houston TX 77003. The funeral mass will be held on Tuesday January 26, 2016 at 10am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church 2405 Navigation Blvd, Houston TX 77003. Interment to follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, 6900 Lawndale, Houston, TX 77023. The family would like to express their gratitude to all the family, friends and caretakers who cared and visited Mike in his last days. |
