Charles A. Engbrock, age 88 of Pearland, formerly of Temple, died Tuesday, August 11, 2015 in a Houston area hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Saturday, August 15, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church at Cyclone with Rev. Steve Sauser at celebrant. Burial with military honors will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 PM Friday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with a rosary recited at 7:30 PM. Mr. Engbrock was born September 9, 1926 in Cyclone to Leo and Oleva Green Engbrock. He was a graduate of Rogers High School and a veteran of World War II in the U. S. Army. He had been a resident of the Houston area since 1957. He was a banker in the Houston area for 53 years. He was a Catholic and a charter member of Knights of Columbus Council #3444 in Temple. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Dorrace Beach, his first wife, Margaret Engbrock, his second wife, Shirley Engbrock, daughter, Renea Hoopengardner and great-granddaughter, Angela Marie. Survivors include his son, Ken Engbrock and wife, Julie of La Porte, two grandchildren, Margaret Ann Wiles and husband, Andy of League City and Zachary Engbrock and one great-grandson, Cohen James Wiles. Also surviving are two brothers, Gene E. Engbrock and wife, Betty of Temple and Leonard H. Engbrock and wife, Sue of Brenham. Memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph's Catholic Church at Cyclone. |
