asper "Big Humphrey" Vitale, 69, of Pearland passed away suddenly, Sunday, January 20, 2013, surrounded by his loving family. He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, a friend to many and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was the owner/operator of Big Humphrey's restaurant and moved the location from Park Place Street in Houston to the current Pearland location in 1986. Jasper was a Pearland icon from the parades he was in on the hump-mobile with the shed house, to his BIG, Howdy Neighbor, when you walked into the restaurant, his big smile to his one line jokes, especially when the cost of your bill at the counter always grew into thousands of dollars, he will be truly missed by all.

Jasper was preceded in death by his daughter, Angela Vitale and his father, the legendary wrestler, Joseph "Big Humphrey" Vitale and mother, Antoinette Cipponeri Vitale. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Glenda Vitale; daughter, Lisa Vitale and Christian Corl; son, Joey Vitale and wife Carolyn; grandchildren, Tatina Hurley, Annalisa Vitale, Cassidi Corl, Joe Joe Vitale, Johnny Vitale; sisters, Rosalie Davison, Geneivieve Vitale, Antoinette Quintero and husband Jessie; numerous brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews other loving family and friends.

Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 pm with a vigil to begin at 7:00 pm, Thursday, January 24, 2013 at St. Helen Catholic Church. Mass of Resurrection will be held in his honor on 10:30 am, Friday, January 25, 2012 at St. Helen Catholic Church 2209 Old Alvin Road, Pearland, TX 77581. Burial will follow at Southpark Cemetery.
