DANIEL HUGHES

 

Born May 2, 1933 in Liberty, Missouri, Dan joined the US Air Force during the Korean War and served as a pilot in the Vietnam War, he began his military career as an Airman; achieved his wings and retired after 20 years serving his country as a Lt. Col. He then achieved his MBA at LSU Shreveport and a Real Estate Brokers license. Daniel passed away March 25, 2014 in shreveprot, La.

He was an active member at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Waskom and the Knights of Columbus in Marshall, TX

Dan was a great man, a kind gentle man, a great father and husband, and loved by all who knew and met him. He is dearly missed but as he'd want it, we'll carry on.... with the fondest memories fortified with his ever present wisdom and grace.

He is preceded in death by his parents Frank & Margarete Hughes and first wife Joann Govoni Hughes.

Survivors include his wife Mary L. (Lori) Hughes; daughter, Jane & her husband Joe Kitchens of Amarillo, TX; his son, John & Lisa Hughes-Monaghan of Texarkana, AR; foster daughter, Lisa Peden of Leicestershire UK; his sister, Kathy & her husband Dan Nelson of Walnut Creek, CA; 4 grandsons, 2 great grandsons, and multiple nieces and nephews.
