Douglas Gardiner, age 55, passed away Friday, March 1, 2013, in Marshall, Texas. He was born December 31, 1957, in Huntsville, Alabama, to Franklyn Arthur and Barbara Jean Johnston Gardiner. Douglas was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He was also a member of The Knights of Columbus and the Boy Scouts of America. Douglas is survived by his parents, Franklyn and Barbara Gardiner; brothers, Frederick Earl Gardiner and wife Debra, and Theodore Ernest Gardiner and wife Lineth; sisters, Dorothy Jean McIntosh, Alice Dianne Ortiz, and Kathryn Marie Busby and husband Marvin Ray; aunt and uncle, Marshall and Laverne Johnston; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mary Burt Gardiner Preston and Clarence Gardiner, and Theodore and Lucile Johnston; sister, Cynthia Annette; and several aunts and uncles. Mass of Christian Burial for Douglas will be 10:00 AM, Friday, March 15, 2013, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marshall, Texas, with Father Denzil Vithanage officiating. Visitation will be 7-8:30 PM, Thursday, March 14, 2013, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marshall, Texas, with Rosary at 7:00 PM. Honorary pallbearers will be Knights of Columbus, Boy Scouts of America, and Lonnie Hancock. |
