Don J. Kreul age 93 of Beach Park passed away on Monday, May 22, 2017 at James A Lovell Federal Health Care Center in North Chicago. He was born July 20, 1923 in Racine, Wisconsin and had been an area resident for most of his life. He was a member of St. DIsmas Parish in Waukegan and a former member of St. Patrick Parish in Wadsworth. He was active in the Men's clubs of both parishes and a founding member of St. Dismas Parish. He was also a U.S. Navy Veteran serving just after World War II and in the Korean War. He was a member of the Sharvin Post Drum & Bugle Corps. Don spent the majority of his career working for Glidden Paint Company, Chicago, IL in the resins division. He was with the company in excess of 40 years. Don is survived by his children, Barbara J. Parsygnat of Waukegan, Randell J. (Mary) Kreul of Mundelein, Daniel J (Janis) Kreul of Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, Jacquelyn K. (Edward Jr.) Smurlo of Lombard, Leesa A Schultz of Graettinger, Iowa, Roger P. (Cheryl) Kreul of Arlington Heights, Sherrilyn K. (Bruce) Swehla of Spring Grove and J. Scott (Kathleen) Kreul of Wadsworth; 35 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. his sister-in-law, Helene Linder of Burlington, Wisconsin as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Don was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Elvira "Jo" Kreul, his parents, 1 brother, 2 sisters, 2 sons-in-law, Walter Parsygnat in 1989 and Joseph Schultz in 1997 and his granddaughter, Erin Lawler in 1993. |
