Lazer, Donald J. 89, of Gurnee passed away on Saturday, July 21, 2007 at Victory Lakes Continuing Care Center in Lindenhurst. He was born June 14, 1918 in Milwaukee, WI. He was a member of St. Anastasia Parish, a veteran of WWII serving in the US Army, member of the VFW, Deerfield American Legion, 81st. Wildcat Infantry Division Reunion Committee, 40/8 Gurnee Unit 604, and Knights of Columbus. Don was an early volunteer and active in the St. Anastasia Soup Kitchen and was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels, He also instructed foreign born seminarians and priests in English for use in homilies. He was also Captain for the Eucharistic Adoration Team at Marytown. He was the retired owner of Deerfield Paint & Glass. Don is survived by two nieces, Jacquiline Stedman and Michelle Roder; three great nephews and one great niece. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Sarah (nee McGahan) Lazer; his sister, Lavera Lazer and brother, Kenneth Lazer.
