COUNCIL #367 - KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS NORFOLK, VA COUNCIL 367 REMEMBERS
ANDRE HANS GLAUBKE

On December 26, 2018, our hero, Andre Hans Glaubke, earned his angel wings.

Andre was born in Canada and raised in Norfolk, VA. He was the son of Willi P. Glaubke and the late Helga Glaubke. Andre was retired from Norfolk Fire/Rescue after 30 years of service. He was employed by Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital.

Left to cherish his beautiful memory is his wife Laura C. Glaubke, daughter Aundrea J. Glaubke (fiance Robert Williamson), son Adam F. Glaubke, his brother-in-law Billy Couch (Debbie), brother Robert (Amy), Jorg (Mindy), Achim (Lynn), Hank, Eddie (Donna), and his cousin Marlies (Marty) whom he considered his sister, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Andre was an avid ODU fan and season ticket holder since its inception in 2009. Andre was known for his beautiful smile and quick wit.

A special thank you to his Sentara Virginia Beach and Sentara Princess Anne friends - he considered you all family, Dr. Scott Cross and nurse Barbara for their excellent care and comfort they gave to Andre over the year. A special thank you to our St. Pius Family who have surrounded us with love and friendship, and all the friends that showed such kindness during his illness.

Andre was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and attended mens group on Saturday mornings where he made lifelong friends. Andre dedicated his life to the service of people and was always there if anyone needed him.

There will be a graveside service at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Norfolk at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 31, 2018. A luncheon celebrating Andre's life will be from 11:15 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Azalea Inn on East Little Creek Road. All are invited to come and share sweet stories of Andre. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Chapel assisting the family. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.

A quote from a doctor Andre worked with for 30 years: "He lived a life of service and I was proud to be his friend. Had your back, said what he meant, and meant what he said."
