John R. Charles Sr., 84, of Waukegan, peacefully passed away on October 9, 2018 surrounded by his family at Vista East Hospital. John married his beloved wife Patricia at Mother of God Church in Waukegan on May 14, 1955.
At the age of 16, John joined the US Navy and served his country for four years. He retired from the US Postal Service in Lake Bluff, IL. He was a former parishioner of Mother of God Church and current parishioner at St. Dismas Church. He was in the Knights of Columbus. In his free time, John enjoyed golfing, bowling, and hosting events for his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife; his children, John R. (Lynette) Charles Jr., Michael F. Charles, and Kay (Ken) Stoinski; his grandchildren, Kelsey, Andrew, and Joshua; his siblings, Frank (Rosemary) Charles and Madeline Peters.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dode and Evelyn Charles; and his siblings: Paul, Dode, Betty, and Rosemary. |
