We need volunteers to award medals to winning athletes. Two shifts:
- 8:30 am - 12:30 pm
- 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Knights and their spouses, children and friends will be awarding the medals to each of the athletes. The awards areas are indoors. Top Golf will require 6 volunteers during each shift. Assisting the athletes of the Special Olympics is entertaining and worthwhile as well as a very rewarding experience.
This can serve as one of your State Council Service Program Awards necessary for the council to be awarded the prestigious Star Council Award by the Supreme Council. The women are invited to help with the handling of the medals and ribbons and the children are invited to cheer for the athletes when they receive their awards.
Feel free to work one shift or both shifts as you are able to work into your busy schedule. Any time that you can spend assisting the athletes of the Special Olympics is greatly appreciated.
KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS SAFE ENVIRONMENT GUIDELINES:
We have been informed by the Knights of Columbus Safe Environment Chair that all members of the Knights of Columbus and their family members are encouraged to assist with the upcoming Special Olympics events. All Knights that assist must be Safe Environment cleared; Family members and Non-Catholic volunteers are welcome to assist with the presentation of awards and will be paired with a Knights volunteer that has been safe environment cleared.
