The annual Lenten soup and stations SIGN UP HERE
One of our activities during Lent is to offer Soup Suppers, followed by Stations of the Cross on Fridays. This has been very successful because our various ministries have signed up for a Friday to provide the soup, bread, and salad. Please find attached the 2026 Lenten Soup Supper Guidelines.
Based on past Soup Suppers, only 4 to 6 (max) crockpots of meatless soup are plenty and are usually offered with bread. Even though I have attached the guidelines, I wish to emphasize a few items and provide some useful tips/additional information:
- You are not limited to just soups for your suppers. You are welcome to include: a salad, dessert(s), mac and cheese (Wegmans sells a delicious lobster mac and cheese), or a meatless pasta dish like baked ziti.
- If your ministry has decided to have mac and cheese as one of the menu options, it is highly encouraged to double the portion your ministry will be bringing because mac and cheese is one of the more favored dishes during Soup Suppers.
- The soup will be served in the Parish Center Dining Facility at 6:00 p.m.
- Paper products, including bowls, napkins, cups, plasticware (spoons and knives), water, and lemonade will be provided by the Parish and already set out in the Dining Facility prior to 6:00 p.m.
- Crockpots are NOT to be cleaned out in the kitchen. Please use a crockpot liner, designed for the purpose of disposal or clean at home.
- Bring several ladles to serve the soups.
- Consider bringing a small sign(s) to display what type of soup(s) are available for the evening.
- Promotional/Informational materials about your Ministry/Organization.
- St. Francis Lectors (English and Spanish) and a Friar will lead the Bilingual Stations of the Cross in the church at 7:00 p.m.
