Effective on March 13, 2024, the meeting location for the Father Mychal Judge Assembly 3086 is changed from Taylor Hall at St. Benedicts to St. Brendan the Navigator Catholic Church, 4633 Shiloh Road, Cumming, GA 30040.
The meeting will be held in the Fireside room at the Parish with a light meal being provided by St. Monica’s at 6:15 PM and the meeting will start at 7:00 PM.
The change will be a permanent change of location and all members of the Assembly are invited to join the meeting either in person or online.
Our Assembly was chartered nine years ago andencompasses Sir Knights from three Councils, St. Monica’s, St. Brenden’s andSt. Benedict’s. We meet the second Wednesday of each month at Taylor Lodgelocated on the St. Benedict’s parish campus. The meetings startat 7:30 PM. Alight meal is served starting at 6:45 PM. Most members arrive early givingthemtime to socialize.The Assembly is structured much in the same way as yourCouncil. The officers titles are different but the duties are the same. Our Assembly adheres to this principal byfinanciallyassisting Veteran Support Groups. At this time we are making contributions to:Orderof the Purple Heart #576, Atlanta Vietnam Veterans Business Association,FisherHouse, Department of Veterans Affairs at the Decatur Medical Centersupporting the PTSDClinic and TBI Clinic.The financial support we provide comesfrom the dues we pay. Dues are our sole source ofincome. We do not have fishfry, pancake breakfasts or golf tournaments. This is why it is soimportant tokeep current your Assembly dues.Our Assembly is named in honor of Fr. MychalJudge. Fr Mychal was the Chaplin for the NewYork City Fire Department. He losthis life on September 11th, 2001 while offering prayers forthe rescuers,injured and dead in the lobby of the North Tower. He was killed when debriscameflying through the lobby when the South Tower fell.
