As we have for the past couple of years, we will be closing our fraternal year with a family cookout. It will be at Slater Park, Picnic Site 6 on Tuesday, June 17th, (our usual meeting night) and it will begin at 5:00 PM. If you are familiar with the picnic areas, this is a one-way street, regardless of which park entrance you use. Our site is the last one in the second parking lot. The council will provide hotdogs, hamburgers, rolls, condiments soda, and water. This is a family cookout, so spouses and children are encouraged to attend!
Important: To ensure adequate food and beverages, please reply to paul.r.gendreau@gmail.com no later than Monday, June 16th telling how many from your family will attend.
What you should bring:
- Something to share – salad (green salad, potato, macaroni, etc.), munchies, dessert. Pick a category and bring your favorite. It doesn’t have to feed an army – we usually have plenty to round out our meal.
- Lawn chairs for your group.
- Any lawn games that people might like to play (optional) Our site is next to a large grassy area so there is room to have fun!
Helpful if you have it:
- Pop up canopy in case of “iffy” weather or sun protection
- Portable tables to spread out the food items
- If anyone has a portable charcoal or gas grill, it would help expand our cooking capacity.
Should the weather forecast guarantee heavy rain, I will send an email on Monday to tell you of the event’s cancellation. Pray for a nice day!
