COUNCIL INFORMATION

About Presentation Council

Presentation Council was formed over 50 years ago, on March 10, 1968. Our council supports the Church of the Presentation closely on a number of activities, events and ministries.  Charity is at the heart of our work and our faith  - and it always has been.  We're here to build a daily bridge back to what matters, for our members and the Presentation community.

Some of our annual activities and events include supporting and assisting people with intellectual disabilities each Spring, organizing the Presentation Golf Outing, sponsoring  the parish pancake breakfast  with proceeds benefiting the Youth Ministry’s summer mission trips, and hosting a Christmas Dinner Dance & Lenten Family Fish Fry,  In addition, we support church ministries such as the Presentation Food Pantry, Nova Hope for Haiti (Medical Mission) and Angels Among Us.  We also fund scholarships, serve meals at Covenant House in Newark and provide financial support for local Catholic schools and Right to Life organizations. This is just a sampling of our programs which offer wonderful opportunities to serve the community.

Mission Statement

The mission of Presentation Council 6033 is we are Catholic men building a bridge back to faith. We come from many places, backgrounds, and stages in our lives, but we are all of one faith.  All the good works we do follow core principles:

Charity - Our Catholic faith teaches us to “Love thy neighbor as thyself.” Members of the Knights of Columbus show love for their neighbors by conducting food drives, sponsoring charity fundraisers, and volunteering their time in support of worthy causes. Knights recognize that our mission, and our faith in God, compels us to action. There is no better way to experience love and compassion than by helping those in need, a call we answer every day.

Unity – None of us is as good as all of us. Members of the Knights of Columbus all know that – together – we can accomplish far more than any of us could individually. So we stick together…we support one another. As a Knight of Columbus you can count on the support and encouragement of your brother Knights as you work to make life better in your parish and community.

Fraternity – The Venerable Michael J. McGivney founded the Knights of Columbus, in large part, to provide assistance to the widows and children left behind when the family breadwinner died – often prematurely. The Order’s top-rated insurance program continues to do this today, as do individual Knights, who gave more than 75.6 million service hours in 2017, illustrating how Catholics serve each other in fraternity and mercy, who gave more than 75.6 million service hours in 2017, illustrating how Catholics serve each other in fraternity and mercy.  In the Knights of Columbus, we watch out for and take care of one another.

Patriotism – Members of the Knights of Columbus are patriotic citizens. We are proud of our devotion to God and country, and believe in standing up for both.   Whether it’s in public or private, the Knights of Presentation Council 6033 proudly support the United States of America.
