COUNCIL INFORMATION

A Challenge to be a Part of the Solution…

The Knights of Columbus is a Catholic men's fraternal benefit society instituted in 1882, by a Parish priest, Father Michael J. McGivney, to render mutual aid and assistance to sick, disabled and needy members and their families.

Since its formation, the Knights of Columbus has grown from several members in one council to more than 12,000 councils with 1.9 million members throughout the United States, Canada, Philippines, Mexico, Poland, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Panama, the Bahamas, the Virgin Islands, Cuba, Guatemala, Guam, Saipan, Lithuania, Ukraine, and South Korea.  Within the Order there are four “Degrees” of Knighthood, each one meant to exemplify one of the four principles of charity, unity, fraternity and patriotism

Currently at 105 members strong, our local Council was founded in September, 2001, taking the name of a St. Andrew Apostle Church former associate pastor, Thomas M. Wells.  Since then our Council has established an impressive history of service to church, youth, family, community, and support for seminarians. Just in the past year our Council raised over $27,000 for local charities and has provided over 5,000 service hours from our members. We also enjoy many social programs with fellow Knights and their families.

Our mission is to assist Parish and local charities, enhance the fellowship of our members, the welfare of our families, and to promote Catholic beliefs and values. Our organization provides the opportunity for association, fellowship, and friendship with other men in the parish.
