COUNCIL INFORMATION
Founded in March of 2001, the St. Mary's Parish Knights of Columbus Council, Our Lady of Knock Council #12882, is a Catholic men's fraternal organization open to men 18 years of age and older.
The Council, which consists of nearly 100 members, was formed to support St. Mary's Parish and the Minooka/Channahon community by rendering financial aid to members and their families, providing mutual aid and assistance to sick, disabled and needy members and their families, and ensuring social and intellectual fellowship is promoted among members and their families through educational, charitable, religious, social welfare, war relief and public relief works.
The Council also provides opportunities for Catholic men to deepen their faith, support and protect their families, become involved in St. Mary's Parish, support the local community, and enjoy the fellowship of other Catholic men.
Some of the examples of activities the Council sponsors are as follows:
- Intellectual Disabilities / Tootsie Roll Drive in September
- Quarterly Community Blood Drives
- Parish French Toast Breakfast on the Fourth Sunday of even months throughout the year
- Community Youth Free Throw Contest
- Parish Euchre Nights to provide financial assistance for the Parish Scholarship Council
- Bean Bag Tournament at the Minooka Summerfest
- Council Family social outings such as Family Bowling Event, Family Picnic, etc.
