COUNCIL INFORMATION
The St. Anthony Knights of Columbus Council 12300 is an order of Catholic gentlemen dedicated to promoting Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism. The Knights of Columbus works to spread the faith, both among our members and throughout the world. We offer a strong insurance program, service to the Church, community, and numerous works of philanthropy.
Name change for our council
At the April 9, 2024 meeting the council approved the resolution to change our name to:
Father Loyd Morris Council 12300.
This is the resolution as passed:

WHEREAS, The Knights of Columbus Council 12300 was chartered on the Thirtieth day of September of 1998, as the Knights of Columbus parish council; further, the council is recognized by the Supreme Council of the Knights of Columbus. And, we are ruled under the bylaws of our council as approved by the Supreme Council,
WHEREAS, The council has the authority under Section 42 of the Laws of the Knights of Columbus, to request a name change within the bounds noted in that section.
WHEREAS, The council was formed under the urging of Father Loyd Morris, who was the Pastor of our parish, and a great supporter of the Knights of Columbus.
WHEREAS, Father Loyd Morris not only supported our council but was Chaplain of the Diocese of Dallas Chapter for many years, and he was the Friar for the "Bishop Joseph Patrick Lynch" Texas Third District Fourth Degree Assemblies.
WHEREAS, Father Loyd Morris peacefully departed this life on

Be it resolved that Council 12300 proposes to be renamed
Father Loyd Morris Council 12300
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Knights of Columbus Texas State council and the Supreme Council of the Knight of Columbus are requested to approve the change of name.

The resolution was approved by Bishop Edward Burns, and subsequently by the State Deputy Ron Alonzo, and the Knights of Columbus Supremem board of directors. Supreme Secretary John A. Marrella notified us of the approval on March 17, 2025 making the name change official.
