Origin
The Knights of Columbus were founded in 1882 by the Blessed Father Michael J. Mc.Givney, dedicated to the principles of charity, unity, fraternity, and patriotism.
K of C Council 12173 was founded in 1998 by the Chicago Police Head Chaplain Rev. Tom Nangle, The mission of the Knights of Columbus is to provide members and their families with volunteer opportunities in service of the Catholic Church and first responders.
