About Our Council

The Knights of Columbus, Council #10988

Council #10988 is a dedicated group of Catholic Gentlemen that have a love of our Faith, our Church and our Country.  We demonstrate our love by providing gifts to charitable organizations or individuals in need.  We have several activities for generating the funds we use to provide to these charitable causes.

The first Saturday in June is traditionally reserved for our Charity Golf Tournament.  We arrange, with a local golf course, to schedule and support volunteer 4 person teams, to compete for various prizes.  Entry fees are used to provide prizes, food for the tournament and to otherwise support Tournament conduct.  Proceeds from the tournament are mostly used to assist the Exceptional Center in Benton, Kentucky.  We also have an annual, Cleanup KY641 project where we pick-up trash on KY641.

The first week in October is scheduled to support our Tootsie Roll Drive.  Teams of Knights position themselves around the county (with County permission) to seek donations for Tootsie Rolls.  The Drive is a good opportunity to meet new people in and around the county and to seek donations.  The Knights of Columbus, Council 10988 has several Charities to which donations are provided (to name a few):

*Wounded Warrior Project ; St. Pius X, Calvert City, KY;  The Exceptional Center, Benton, KY

Assembly Honors Local Homeless Veterans

Members of the Fourth Degree have scheduled a visitation in November to honor homeless Veterans that have served

their country.  We will visit a homeless shelter and thank these wonderful individuals for their assistance in keeping our

great nation free.  "The home of the free, because of the Brave."
