NEW COUNCIL 9678 Members

 

 

At the August Council Meeting Two New Members to our council were introduced. On the top photo on the left is New Member Isaiah Johnson and below is Pedro Lozada. Both received their 3rd Degree Certificate from Grand Knight John Caravella. Also present was Ron Mancuso who brought the 2 inductees to our Council. 

Pictured at the left is Grand Knight John Caravella introducing our new Social Media Chairman Phil Calvillo to the Council at the August Council meeting. GK Caravella presented SK Calvillo a Title bar to wear with his badge to display his new position. 

Phil will be working with the Council Program leaders to create and advertise upcoming Council activities in the Bulletin, at Masses, with special signage, and in the SPLASH.

NEW COUNCIL #9678 OFFICERS INSTALLED

On Jun 27, 2026, new officers were installed for Council #9678. Since the council is moving from District #9 to District #22, both District Deputies conducted the service. After the service a brunch was served.

COUNCIL DONATION TO AID TO WOMEN

Council 9678 was part of a fundraiser led by Father Patterson Council 3121 along with Councils 9678, 10540, and 16277.

The fundraiser involved raffle tickets, a silent action, and a dinner. The donation check of $2000 from our council was given to the Aid to Women based upon results of the fundraiser shared among the participating councils.

 

The Aid to Women Center offers resources and compassionate care for those facing planned or unplanned pregnancies.

 

AWC sent a Thank you Card and letter to the Council. click on the related links at the begining of this article to read them

DONATION TO ST. PETERS INDIAN MISSION CATHOLIC SCHOOL

On June 15, 2026, representatives from Council 9678 traveled to St. Peters School to present a check to the school. The check was a donation from the Knights of Columbus based upon the Councils State KC Raffle ticket sales. The check was for $1103.80.

DONATION TO MATTHEW 19:14 PROJECT

The photo shows Grand Knight John Caravella (on the right) presenting a check for $918 to Jim Pogge the Executive Director of the Matthew 19:14 Project.  The check was a donation from the Knights of Columbus based upon Council 9678 State KC Raffle ticket sales.

The mission of the Matthew 19:14 project is to provide Arizona Catholic schools with the resources and support for the success of students with special needs because a Catholic education should be accessible to all children."
