Knights of Columbus Tootsie Roll Drive Brings in over $4,000 for intellectual disabilities

The Knights of Columbus Council 839 completed the 2023 Intellectual Disabilities Campaign (Tootsie Roll Drive) on the last weekend in April, and a final report was rendered at the Council meeting on Monday, May 8.

For those Knights who were unable to attend the meeting, I am proud to report that Council 839 raised just over $4,000.00 for people with special needs in our community.

The success of this year's fundraiser is due to the following:

  • The generosity of the citizens in our community
  • The support of Village Festival Foods, Walmart South, and Shelby Ace Hardware
  • The support of our parish pastors and the generosity of their faithful parishioners
  • The brother Knights who managed the storefronts and our church efforts
  • The volunteers who worked storefront shifts and parish Masses
  • The brother Knights who provided essential administrative support

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the success of this worthy cause!
