2016 All Councils Christmas Dinner

This year's Christmas dinner was held jointly with all 4 councils in District 72 participating. Guests from various non-profit organizations supported by the councils also were invited. Included were Special Olympics Broward County, Our Father's House Soup Kitchen and St. Vincent de Paul. The dinner was hosted by John A. Hill Council 4955 at St. Gabriel Parish in Pompano Beach. The dinner was everyone's favorite- pot luck! Entertainment was provided by 4th degree SK Andrea Garofalo who led with a beautiful Ave Maria followed by many Christmas favorites. After dinner each council presented checks to the respective organizations they support. Grand Knight Daniel Diaz from St. Henry's Council proudly donated checks to Our Father's House Soup Kitchen and Special Olympics Broward County.

Shoe Box Fundraiser

We Want Your Shoes!

St. Henry Council is excited to start a new, ongoing program. We will be collecting used shoes for World Wear for distribution in third world countries. The Council will receive about $.050/lb of used shoes collected. Collecting used shoes prevents them from adding to the landfills while providing much needed footwear for those less fortunate. Shoe boxes will be placed at St. Henry for collection.

OFH Chapel Construction

Renovations are nearly complete to the chapel at Our Father's House (OFH) Soup Kitchen. Jim Crissy, Director of OFH gave St. Henry Council Grand Knight Pete Chiaravalle a tour of the remodeled chapel. "We're waiting for some plaques that in memoriam of various donors' relatives, and some minor finish work" stated Crissy. The chapel is non denominational and available for use by all the OFH patrons.

Christmas Dinner

The Christmas dinner was a delicious success! Approximately 15 volunteers and athletes from Broward County Special Olympics along with Jim and Katie Crissy from Our Father's House Soup Kitchen enjoyed a catered dinner hosted by St. Henry Council and Council 3080. After dinner checks were presented by both councils to each organization to further support their missions.
