Once again, several organizations teamed up to provide an evening of dancing, fun and entertainment for eligible members of Paducah Easter Seals and other regional Exception Centers in far Western Kentucky & Southern Illinois. In addition to the four Knights of Columbus Councils of Kentucky District #2, the Daughters of Isabella and the Sisters of Service provided labor to select the room decorations and place them in just the right places, and the Boy Scouts provided setup and cleanup services, the Ladies of the Charilty League of Paducah provided photography services for "memory" pictures for the participants, and brother Knights from several councils provided preparation and presentation of snack foods and drinks during the dance. Brother Knight Joe Weitlauf provided music, flashing lights, and DJ services free of charge.
This Annual Dance which supports those with disabilities, is one of the great opportunities provided by the four Councils in District #2 of the Kentucky Knights of Columbus in association with West Kentucky Easter Seals and other organizations. We anticipate 120 participants who will enjoy a night of dancing at no charge, empowered by community fundraising throughout the year. Several non-profit organizations work this event. Represented this year: the Daughters of Isabella and the Sisters of Service providing the decorations; Total Audio Visual Services provided the music, lighting, and Disk Jockey; and four local councils of the Knights of Columbus provide the hall, food, funding and volunteers to setup, serve, and cleanup. A tremendous amount of fun for all, we look forward to November 18th!!!

Kentucky State Council Featured Program
Kentucky's Heavenly Pennies
The Kentucky Heavenly Pennies Program (KHPP) is predicated on the old adage of a penny saved is a penny earned. It is also based on the concept of the time value of money. Money saved, no matter how small the amount, when done so on a routine and consistent basis over time, will result in significant savings. The monies earned through the KHPP are used to support vocations in the State of Kentucky.
A KHPP container is given to each Council to be used for collecting spare change (dollar bills also work!). At every Knights of Columbus meeting, event, and function, pass the jar and let everyone know that the money placed therein goes to support vocations in their area. The monies turned into the Kentucky State Council twice annually (on or before December 15th and on or before April 15th are distributed to the Diocese/Arch-Diocese in which each individual Council resides for their vocations programs.
The key to conducting a successful KHPP campaign in your Council is consistency. Pass the jar at every opportunity and once again set the standard as the Strong Right Arm of the Catholic Church. For more information or an extra KHPP container, contact Chairman Kent Hoskins.
