2018 Knight of Charity

Congratulations to Brother Knights Father James Amasi and Nicholas "Buster" Ochoa

 

 

Congratulations to Father James Amasi and Buster Ochoa for achieving their major degrees (2nd and 3rd Degrees) in the Knights of Columbus. Both men were knighted as full member of the KofC at the major degree exemplification held in Gainesville on 7/22/2017.

2017 Annual Challenge of Champions Soccer Tournament

Knights of Columbus Council 10816 will host it annual Challenge of Champions Soccer Tournament on January 20-21, 2017 at the Stephenville Soccer Fields.

Immaculate Conception Icon Special Prayer Service

Special prayer services will be held at 7pm on Tueday evening, January 21, 2014, at St. Brendan's Church and at 7pm on Wednesday, January 22, 2014, at Sacred Heart Church in Comanche in honor of Mary's Immaculate Conception.  The services will be in English at St. Brendan's and in Spanish at Sacred Heart.  The Knights of Columbus Immaculate Conception icon, blessed by Pope Francis, will be on display during these services.

Council 10816 welcomes Seminarian Randolph "Ed" Hopkins, Jr. as one of two seminarians supported by Council 10816 through the KofC Seminarian Support Program.

Knights of Columbus Wheelchair Mission Special Collection -- Weekend of January 11-12, 2014

Update: Thanks to your generosity, Council 10816 will be able to donate $1800.00,which will purchase a total of 12 wheelchairs through this program.  Thanks to all who contributed!

A special collection will be taken up at Masses the weekend of January 11-12, 2014, in support of the Knights of Columbus Wheelchair Mission. This program began in 2003 and since that time over 40,000 wheelchairs have been purchased by the Knights of Columbus and distributed to communities globally. Because of the high volume of wheelchairs purchased through this program, wheelchairs that normally cost $500.00 can be purchased by the Knights of Columbus at a discounted rate of $150.00. This program is one of the Knights of Columbus "Featured Eight" programs.

Blood Drive Collects 31 Pints of Blood

On Sunday, December 1, 2013, Council 10816 collected 31 pints of blood at its semi-annual blood drive in conjunction with Carter BloodCare.

Thanks to all those who donated. A special thanks to Mike Hill for coordinating the overall effort! Special thanks also to our 4th Degree brothers, John Seifert and Ed Gordon, and their wives for preparing breakfast for the donors and for the Carter BloodCare personnel. 

Knights Donate Proceeds from Soccer Tourney

The Knights of Columbus hosted its annual Challenge of Champions soccer tournament this weekend in Stephenville. On Thursday, the Knights hosted a dinner to thank area sponsors. Proceeds from the event benefit Stephenville High School’s girls and boys soccer programs and the Stephenville Soccer Association. Willie DeJong presented a check to SHS boys soccer coach Joe Carter on Thursday.

2015 Helio Couto Scholarship Recipients

Knights of Columbus Council 10816 recently presented $500 Helio Couto Memorial Scholarships to graduating high school students heading off to college. The students are required to be children or grandchildren of council members.  Those receiving scholarships are:

2013 Helio Cuto Scholarship Recipients Recognized

Recipients of the 2013 Helio Cuto Scholarships were recognized prior to the Council's August meeting held on August 5, 2013. Recipients included Courtney Alexander (Tarleton State University), granddaughter of brother Charles Schneider; Patrick Dejong (Notre Dame), son of brother David Dejong; Nelson Reeves (Ranger College), grandson of brother Clarence Hoelscher; Jose Rodriguez (Texas Tech), son of brother Jose Rodriguez, Sr.; Laurie Tolboom (Texas Tech), daughter of brother T. J. Tolboom; and Andrew Volleman (Texas A&M), son of brother Frank Volleman.  Congratulations to all this year's recipients!

12th Annual Soccer Tournament in Stephenville, Texas hosted by Council 10816

The tournament will take place on January 19 and 20, 2013 in Stephenville at the Soccer complex.

 

Update:

The Knights of Columbus Council 10816 presented a check for $4,500 to area Soccer organizations as part of the proceeds from the organization’s 12th annual Challenge of Champions Soccer Tournament held during mid-January. Twenty-four high school teams competed for the boys and girls championships. The tournament has awarded almost $55,000 to assist youth soccer in the Stephenville community in its 12-year history.
