NEW! Safe Environment Training
Registering As A Current High Level Volunteer
When Knights of Columbus serve as volunteers at an activity sponsored by our council on parish property, they are not only serving as Knights of Columbus volunteers, they are also serving as parish volunteers. Just like any other parish volunteers, members volunteering on parish property must comply with all safe environment requirements of the diocese.
I
The Diocese of Tucson is rolling out a new 3-in-1 Safe Environment Program in our Diocese through Catholic Mutual Group (CMG).
The CMG 3-in-1 Safe Environment Program allows all Priests, Religious, Deacons, Seminarians, Employees, Educators, Board/Council/Committee Members and Volunteers to use a standard platform across the Diocese to complete the required training, forms, and background check all in one system. This will also allow the Diocese to standardize the clearance memo for all participants, to include clearance for training, forms and the background check using one document that expires every three (3) years. We no longer have to track three (3) separate dates (training date, affirmation date and background check date) as we currently do. We also do not need to continue to load the training, affirmation form and clearance memo into multiple systems and spreadsheets to track the expiration dates across multiple platforms. It all remains as a single file in CMG that is available for you (the participant), the compliance officer and HR Office to share. The cost for the system, training modules and background checks will be covered by PSIRT (Parish Self-Insurance Retention Trust). This means there is no cost to you as the participant, to your Parish or your School for any of the services provided by CMG.
As we transition to CMG, we ask that all active Employees, Educators, Volunteers and Board/Council/Committee Members, who are currently cleared and in good standing with the current safe environment program, register and complete the CMG training, required forms and background check (as applicable) no later than September 30, 2021.
The link to the Diocese of Tucson Safe Environment site is https://tucson.cmgconnect.org. Please note that the site works best with Microsoft Edge, Apple Safari, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome and Brave. It is incompatible with Internet Explorer.
Once you are on the site, please follow the registration process. You will need to register under the site name of St Pius X Parish and choose the role in which you serve at g. Volunteer: High Level. Attached is the quick reference guide for you to use based on your role of High Level Volunteer. Everyone using this system has to use a unique email, i.e. spouses may not share an email. Those without email will get their messages by signing into CMG periodically.
It will take an hour to complete the training and about 20-30 minutes to complete the steps that follow training, which is completing all the required forms and acknowledging all the legal notifications. Please note, as you complete each of the required forms on each page, please click “submit”. After you click “submit”, you will need to scroll to the end of that page and click “next page” to continue with the next page (form).
In addition to the quick reference guide, please find the video as a reference to assist you with how to register and create an account in CMG. The video is also available under resources in CMG as well.

Those of you who were cleared using a DPS Card may be required to come in for us to do a fingerprint card for the Diocese of Tucson. They are no longer accepting DPS Cards for clearance. We will keep you posted.
Thank you for all you do for the St. Pius X Community!
