Foundation to Serve OpenHouse Volunteers Needed

In conjunction with the Open House for the Foundation to Serve west end expansion, LOTW is going to be hosting some refreshments at the conclusion of the tour after each Mass the weekend of May 15th and 16th.  We are coordinating with volunteers from the Men's Club to set up and serve cookies and drinks on Saturday after the 4:30 Mass and donuts and drinks on Sunday after all three of the Masses, plus clean up on Saturday and Sunday.  Think of it as a mini-Community Sunday weekend.

Nominations for New Officers

As of now you can nominate a brother Knight on the council website for an officer position for the upcoming 2021-2022 Fraternal Year.  Nominations can be made in the "members only"  section of the website.  To log into the "members only" section you need to have your membership number which can be found on your membership card, and enter your date of birth (two digit month/two digit day/four digit year).  Prior to making any nomination, it is strongly encouraged that you reach out for the brother you are nominating to make sure he would like to serve in that position.  As of now, we have one nomination for every officer except for Outside Guard.  Elections will be held at our regular monthly business meeting on Monday May 24th.

GK Notes

Our prayer intention this month is to pray the Prayer of St. Ephrem.  I found a couple of different versions and have attached one for everyone to start with.  I find myself substituting traits and practices that I am currently struggling with, and traits and practices I wish I had more of.  Once you start praying it, you will know what I am talking about.  I think it is always good to learn new prayers that can help us out on our journey through life.

O Lord and Master of my life, take from me the spirit of laziness, meddling, ambition and vain talk.

But give me the spirit of prudence, humility, patience, and love.

Yes, Lord and King, grant me to see my own sin and faults, and not judge my brother.  For you are blessed forever and ever. . Amen.

Thanks brothers,

GK Matt, 720-724-1558

Prayer for the Canonization of Blessed Michael McGivney:

God, our Father, protector of the poor and defender of the widow and orphan, you called your priest, Blessed Michael McGivney, to be an apostle of Christian family life and to lead the young to the generous service of their neighbor. Through the example of his life and virtue, may we follow your Son, Jesus Christ, more closely, fulfilling his commandment of charity and building up his Body which is the Church. Let the inspiration of your servant prompt us to greater confidence in your love so that we may continue his work of caring for the needy and the outcast. We humbly ask that you glorify Blessed Michael McGivney on earth according to the design of your holy will. Through his intercession, grant the favor I now present (here make your request). Through Christ our Lord. Amen
