Bishop Thomas J. Flanagan Fund - Grants for Retired Priests
This newly established fund is named in honor of the late Bishop Thomas J. Flanagan who served the Archdiocese of San Antonio as Auxiliary Bishop from 1998-2005 and the Texas State Council as State Chaplain from 2000-2002. Ensuring the care and welfare of those who so faithfully served us is vitally important. There is no better way to do so than by contributing to the newly established Bishop Thomas J. Flanagan Fund. This fund has been established to provide grants for our retired priests.
With the approval of the State Council Charity Board, we can now provide the ability for individuals to make a difference in the life of a retired priest. You can now make a direct contribution to the Bishop Thomas J. Flanagan Fund on the Texas State Council website's Fundraising page.
Anyone making a direct contribution, of at least $30.00, will be eligible to receive a custom, Chromed License Plate Frame, to proudly display on their vehicle. This custom frame will not only show your support for our Order but also for our Retired Priests!
This does not replace the opportunity to obtain a set of Texas, Knights of Columbus, license plates. You may still obtain, or renew, a set of these license plates through the Texas Department of Motor Vehicle website. This direct contribution opportunity is an enhancement to the fundraising capabilities for this fund.
All monies contributed to this fund, direct contributions as well as the funds received from the Texas DMV, shall continue to be distributed equally to the fifteen dioceses in Texas, each fraternal year.
