George Gregory March, 88, of Carmel, passed away November 17, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. He was born to the late John and Mary on May 4, 1924 in Parma, OH. George received his B.S. in engineering from Case Institute of Technology and his J.D. from Cleveland- Marshall College of Law both located in Cleveland, OH.

George served in the Army during WWII from 1943-1946. He was a sergeant and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He met his beautiful bride, Eleanor Vernon in 1950 in Cleveland. They were married in 1957 and soon thereafter moved to Washington, D.C.

He began his long career by working first as a patent attorney in Washington, D.C. After two years, George accepted an offer to work as a chemical engineer in Los Angles. Throughout his long career he worked at several different companies, including Cabot, Sheller Globe, and United Technologies. He held positions as general manager as well as vice president.

George was a member of the Knights of Columbus "Fourth Degree" and was highly active in service to his church, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. He was also a member of the American Chemical Society Fraternity.

George devoted most of his time in his later years to honoring our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ in prayer. He attended daily Mass, practiced a Eucharistic Holy Hour of adoration and the Stations of the Cross devotion daily, and prayed a daily rosary. His remaining time was spent enjoying his family, especially his loving bride of 55 years, Eleanor. He was an avid prayer warrior.

Cooking, woodworking, drawing, and collecting model cars were some of George's many interests. He was a very accomplished cook and was known for his delicious nut rolls, stuffed peppers and cabbage, mushroom soup, and magnificent Thanksgiving turkeys. He drew hundreds of pictures and cards for special occasions and built beautiful, nearly life-size Christmas mangers for his family.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Eleanor, his son Keith, daughter-in-law Sarah, and grandchildren Christopher (22), Matthew (20), Elizabeth (17) Emily (16), John (12) and Sam (9)
