Salvatore “Sol†Petruzzi, 87, died April 25, 2012, and would have celebrated his 88th birthday May 6, 2012. He was born May 6, 1924 in Chicago, oldest of six children to the late Roscoe and Nellie Petruzzi. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force during WWII and transferred to Camp Atterbury, Edinburgh, Ind., after his offshore duty. He trained as a tailor from age 12, retiring from L.S. Ayres & Co. in 1986, after 41 years as Director of Customer Services. He was a member of St. Andrew Parish in Indianapolis, St. Louis de Montfort of Fishers, Ind., Knights of Columbus, volunteer of the Hamilton County Friends of the Court probation officer, Serra Club of Carmel, and sponsored a brother and sister from India for over 10 years. He is preceded in death by two sons, Michael and John Petruzzi; and grandson, Gregory Allen Lowe. Survivors include his wife, Martha Marie (Myers) Petruzzi; children, Pamela Petruzzi, MaryAnn Lowe, Joe Petruzzi, Donna Ranney; grandchildren, Chad and Lindsey Ranney, Emily and Sam Lowe; brother, Peter Petruzzi; and numerous nieces and nephews. |
