Rev. Father Douglas Michael McCormack 67, of Noblesville, Indiana died Monday February 15, 2010 after a brief illness. Fr. Doug was born March 1, 1942 in Cleveland, Ohio, the youngest of six children born to Thomas F. and Mary Catherine Callaly McCormack. Fr. Doug grew up in Cleveland, OH. He attended Holy Cross School where he served as an altar boy and said his first Mass. He graduated from St. Charles Borromeo College in Cleveland; studied seminary at The Pontifical College Josephinum; was ordained May 17, 1969; and received his Master of Arts Degree in Pastoral Studies from Loyola University in Chicago. Fr. Doug served his entire vocation in the Diocese of Lafayette, Indiana. He was Associate Pastor at St. Paul in Marion and at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. He served many years as Diocesan Youth Director, and was Administrator at St. Ann in Kewanna. Fr. Doug served as Pastor of St. Charles in Otterbein, St. Bridget in Barrydale and St. Charles Borromeo in Peru. He was Pastor of St. Alphonsus Liguori in Zionsville for 17 years. He retired in 2008 after serving as Senior Associate at St. Ambrose in Anderson. Doug was also a 4th Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus, Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Council 12510 at St. Alphonsus Liguori. Fr. Doug is survived by his sisters, Agnes McCormack of Noblesville, IN and Noreen Dowd of Cleveland, OH, his brother Edward McCormack of Greensburg, PA, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Lorraine Donovan, and his brother Thomas McCormack. |
