It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our Brother SK Dennis Michael Kerstiens, a loving husband, devoted father, exceptional grandfather, and cherished member of our community. Dennis passed away peacefully on December 31, 2024, at the age of 73.
As a Knight, he was the Financial Secretary of Council # 11575 for many, many years, serving his council in that position with honor and integrity. He was a fixture at every Knights sponsored event and Council meeting, answering the call to service and was an exemplary example of our four pillars of Charity, Unity, Fraternity, and Patriotism. His actions and compassion commanded respect and he led by example.
Born in Morrison, Colorado, Dennis was the beloved son of Violet Noble and Dennis Kerstiens. He is survived by his devoted wife, Mary Kerstiens, his daughter, Kathy Kerstiens, and his treasured granddaughter, who was his best friend. He is preceded in death by his son, Michael Kerstiens.
Dennis will be deeply remembered for his kindness, strong work ethic, dependability, intellect, and cheesy sense of humor. He had a lifelong passion for the Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, the Colorado School of Mines, and Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. Above all, his unwavering commitment to his family and his deep love for his granddaughter were at the heart of his life. |
