Dr. Fidelis (Fidel) Madkwue Kenine, 62 of Wilmington, DE passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Nigeria on May 13, 1962, Fidel was the youngest of Patrick and Cecilia Kenine's ten children. Fidel is survived by his beloved wife of 31 years, Edith, their two children Onyi and Eric. Siblings Paul, Janet, Bartholomew and Vicky of Nigeria, as well as many nieces, nephews and in-laws.
Fidel begin his love of education while in Nigeria, successfully obtaining his bachelor's and master's degrees. Before moving to America he worked in many establishments and banks in Nigeria.
Fidel moved to America in 2009 and earned his PhD in Business and Technology, specializing in Accounting from Capella University in 2016 He enjoyed traveling, reading and playing and watching soccer You could often find him cheering for his favorite team The Arsenal. He was passionate about volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Delaware and the Gift of Life Donor Program. He enjoyed traveling with his family and returned to Nigeria several times each year. His family has fond memories of trips to Europe, San Diego, and New Orleans.
Fidel was a devout Catholic who attended Mass as Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus Santa Maria Council #195
