Robert Joseph Castranova, 87, passed away May 25, 2024.

His funeral service will be held June 14th, 2024 11 a.m. at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 1000 Tinker Road, Colleyville, Texas, 76034.

Bob was born November 22, 1936, in Trenton, New Jersey, where he grew up. A hard worker from a young age, he helped his father, learning the plumbing trade. After high school, Bob earned a degree in English at St. Francis University in Loretto, Pennsylvania. His fi rst job after college was as a social worker.

Bob married Mary Virginia (Ginger) Wintermute on September 27, 1958. They were married for 65 years. Together they raised three children, Karen, Michael and Robert.

Bob was a salesman for Allied Chemical in the East Coast area initially, then was transferred to Texas in 1968. The family lived in Conroe, Texas, near Houston, until 1977, when they moved to Flower Mound, where Bob bought a convenience store, The All in One. Bob went on to have several successful businesses, including Novatronics.

Bob and Ginger loved to dance together and often did. They also traveled extensively, including a wonderful trip to Italy.

Bob was an excellent golfer and softball player, even in his "senior" years. Bob also was a talented singer. He actually performed on the Ed Sullivan TV show as part of his college quartet. He sang in the choir at church for many years as well.

Bob was very active in several parishes of the Catholic Church, including Knights of Columbus and as a driver for Catholic Charities.

Bob is survived by his wife, Ginger, his daughter Karen and her husband Alan, his son Mike and his wife Traci, and his son Rob and his wife Kendal. He is also survived by four grandchildren -- Michelle, Max, Crista and Cassie, and by his sisters -- Carolyn, Maryanne, and Joanie; as well as nieces and nephews, and other family and friends.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Anna and Joseph Castranova, and by his brother, Sonny.

Memorial donations may be given to Knights of Columbus or Catholic Charities.
