Deacon Ronald Joseph Fejeran unexpectedly departed this life on February 2, 2024. Born in Philadelphia on April 3, 1937 to Marie (Moore) and Alfred Gonzalez, he was adopted by his father Jose Cruz Fejeran at an early age. He married the love of his life, Carole (Mamakos) on March 28, 1959 and they had nine children. He was a wonderful father, grandfather and mentor.
Ronald joined the US Army in 1959 and completed his service in 1965 with the US Special Forces - Airborne. For 45 years he worked in the computer technology field in ever-increasing positions of responsibility for various companies. One of these companies offered him an opportunity in Texas and he moved his family from Maryland in 1982.
Shortly after arriving in Texas, he became a member of St Jude Parish and was eventually accepted into the Diaconate Formation. He was ordained in 1992 by Bishop Charles Grahmann of Dallas. Performing his Diaconate duties was transforming for him and his family came to know that when he received phone calls from those requiring assistance, he believed it was also a call from God to service.
He was a member of Knights of Columbus Council 11293 and Assembly 3553.
A funeral Mass was held Thursday, February 8, 2024 at St. Jude Catholic Church
