HENRY RANGEL OBITUARY Henry Rangel Jr. was born in San Antonio, Texas on September 15, 1939 to Guadalupe and Henry Rangel, the eldest of six children. He went home to the Lord on April 22, 2022. Henry met the love of his life, Rebecca Isabel Gutierrez, at Brackenridge High School, where they were both members of the class of 1958, and Henry a member of the ROTC. They were married on June 4, 1961 at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church. Over the years they welcomed four children; Denise Marie, Carla Ann, Michael Henry and John Matthew. Henry began working at Sunbeam Bakery where he developed the skills and passion for what became a lifelong career in sales. He then went to work for Dome Laboratories (Bayer Pharmaceuticals) where he excelled in the fields of sales and marketing. This job helped him develop the experience and connections that became valuable in launching his own business. In 1980 Henry furthered his pharmaceutical career by opening Beta Dermaceuticals, where he and Rebecca grew the company. In an article written in the San Antonio Business Journal, published in 1997, he was quoted as saying "our value increases when I add an employee – I mean that." "They will be the ones that carry the company to the next level." His dedication and support for the people he worked with was incomparable. Henry was also a member of the Professional Pharmaceutical Representatives Association of Bexar County. Every year Henry sponsored a deep-sea fishing trip to Port Aransas. He treasured the time on the boat with his employees, friends and family. Henry and Rebecca were founding members of St. Matthew Catholic Church in 1968.
