Shawn Milton Jensen Roberts of Gloucester died at Riverside Regional Medical Center on Saturday, October 23, 2021. He was 40. Shawn had received his Doctorate Degree in Philosophy of Education from Regent University this past May. He was a Festival Director for Music in the Parks impacting over 200,000 Elementary through High School students. As a former employee of the Newport News School System, he touched the lives of so many students through music education. He produced numerous school musicals as well as orchestra concerts and collaborative pop concerts with the band and choir, plus so much more. As a member of St. Therese Catholic Church on Main Street in Gloucester, he impacted the community with his music as the pianist and organist. He also began the Livestream ministry at the Parish and stepped in wherever he was needed with his many talents. His son Max preceded him in death. Shawn is survived by his adored wife Jennifer, precious children Luke, Alex, Stephanie, Caitlin, Zach, Eoghan, Juliette, Teddy, Annabelle, and Gwen, beloved parents Harland Milton Roberts, III and Lisa Jensen Roberts, beloved brother Matthew Roberts. A Funeral Mass officiated by Father Gregory Kandt will be held on Friday, November 5, 2021, at 7:00 pm at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 100 Harpersville Road, Newport News, VA 23601. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 5:30 until 6:30 pm. Inurnment will be private. Services under the direction of Hogg Funeral Home. |
