Paul A. Ostermann, 84, of Lebanon, died, Thursday, Jan. 13, 2005 at Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital.

Paul was born Feb. 10, 1920 in Windthorst, TX, the son of Henry and Veronica (Schreiber) Ostermann. He joined the Navy in 1944 and was stationed in San Diego, CA, during W.W. II. Following his discharge in 1947, he settled in Lebanon and began working for U.S. Plywood. He retired in 1982.

Paul was a member of St. Edward's Catholic Church, the Knight's of Columbus and the 4th Degree, American Legion Post #51, and St. Vincent dePaul. He enjoyed gardening and doing charity work.

Paul married Isabell Schmidt on April 25, 1953, in Lebanon, She survives. Other survivors include: 2 daughters: Mary Hake of Crooked River Ranch, and Sherri Ozarowicz of Lebanon, son: Paul of Portland; 3 brothers: Jerome, Albert and Henry all of Windthorst, TX; 2 sisters: Martha Wachsman of Windthorst, TX and Henrietta Bullinger of Henrietta, TX; and 4 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter: Jean Marie, grandson: Logan Ostermann, 2 brothers: Lambert and Herman, and sister: Caroline Zotz.

Viewing will be from noon - 3:00 PM, Sunday, at Huston-Jost Funeral Home.
Recitation of Rosary will begin at 12:30 PM, Monday, Jan. 17 followed by Funeral Mass at 1:00 PM, both at St. Edward's Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Lebanon IOOF Cemetery.
