OBITUARY
Richard/Ski Kaminski 73 of Weatherford TX., born Dec. 13, 1946 in Steubenville, Ohio, died Sept. 7th, 2020 in Fort Worth, TX. he was preceded in death by his father John and Mother Martha and a younger brother. He leaves behind his wife Marie of 47 years & 5 children, Charlotte (Kenny), Joe (Erin), David (Roger), Krystal Richie, Jr., 9 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, a brother Bob (Terry), and nieces and nephews.
SMSGT Richard J Kaminski was a true professional flight engineer, he served as a c-141 flight engineer with the 30th mas at McGuire AFB, NJ and with the 57th mas at Altus AFB, OK while in the 57th mas he would transfer to the 443rd TTS to work in the air force basic flight engineer school SMSGT Kaminski worked as a classroom instructor & curriculum designer/developer prior to becoming the superintendent of the air force basic flight engineer school. During his air force career SMSGT Kaminski helped many students achieve their goal of becoming a qualified flight engineer. SMSGT Kaminski was also a Vietnam Veteran serving 2 tours there.
After his retirement from the air force, SMSGT Kaminski, using his aviation experience worked in the Civilian Aviation industry.
SMSGT Kaminski was a lifetime member of the 57th Alumni Association and was always one of the first ones to sign up for the annual reunion. He enjoyed reconnecting with his military friends. When a new project was initiated with the 57th Alumni Association SMSGT Kaminski was always a strong supporter that I could count on.
He retired from the Air Force in 1986 and in 1987 moved to Weatherford TX. He worked at Lockheed and Hughes/Raytheon also Bombardier Aerospace till he retired in 2016. While working he earned his Master of Science degree at Amberton University in 2002.
He joined the Knights of Columbus at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church where he served as Grand Knight and secretary and belonged to the Color Guard for the Knights. He was also involved with the Acts Mission at Our Lady of Lourdes where he served on several different positions and became a member of the board of directors of Acts Mission out of San Antonio.
His free time was enjoyed RV’ing and going to casinos!
