ASSEMBLY #148 - ARCHBISHOP FITZMAURICE ASSEMBLY REMEMBERS
VINCENT P CARICCHIO
JUNE 2017

Vincent P. Caricchio

AGE: 81 • Newark

Vince Caricchio, age 81, of Newark, DE, passed away at Christiana Hospital from complications of pneumonia. He was surrounded by his loving family. Vince was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA by his parents, Vincent & Angelina Caricchio (Merola). Vince proudly served in the Navy on the USS Forrestal from 1954-1958. He married his childhood sweetheart and the love of his life, Jean, in 1958 and they spent 56 wonderful years together. Vince worked for the FAA, moving often to further his career, and finally settling in Newark, DE in 1975. He was a founding member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church and the Knights of Columbus where he volunteered. After retiring from the FAA, Vince and Jean enjoyed traveling and most importantly, spending time with their family, especially their grandchildren. Vince had a way of making everyone smile with his pranks, humor, wit, and charm, and was never without a story or a joke.

In addition to his parents, Vince was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jean Caricchio - a loss from which he never recovered; brother, John Caricchio; and sister, Rosemary Rudnick. He is survived by his children: Vinnie Caricchio, Jeff Caricchio (Amy), and Chrissy McCall (Jim); and his grandchildren: Jimmy & Lindsey McCall, and Andrew & Zak Kerstetter. He is also survived by a loving brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the caregivers and friends of Cadia Pike Creek, and the staff at Christiana Hospital, especially 6E & 5E, for their compassion, care, and friendship.

A visitation will be held Thursday, June 8, 2017 from 9:30-11 AM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 345 Bear Christiana Rd., Bear, DE 19701 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM. Entombment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Vince's memory to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church.
