SIR KNIGHTS RECOGNIZED AT ASSEMBLY #862 |

Family of the Year Award
|
|
|
|
Sir Knight Silvio and Lady Maria Carlini |
|
For this couple's many years of service to the Knights of Columbus at both Council and Assembly level they were presented with the Family of the Year Award.
SK Silvio has been a distinguished ‘foot soldier’ for many years - a proud Knight who continues to serve at a Sentinel, can be found at every Assembly and Honour Guard event with his camera in hand.
He has even been asked and agreed to attend and provide this support to the LWDA for some of their events. At Council level he serves at 9 breakfast and fish fry events annually - and Maria over the years is always on duty to help at these events.
This recognition of this special couple is overdue - and certainly well deserved! |

Sir Knight Andrew Tarnowski |
|
Sir Knight Drew Tarnowski was presented with the Knight of the Year Award.
Sir Knight Drew has been a member of our Executive serving as a Sentinel for 5 years, is in his first year of being Grand Knight of the Archbishop Denis OConnor Council.
Beyond his responsibilities at our Assembly and his home Council, he has been the Recording Secretary and a member of the Steering Committee of the London West Diocean Association for the last 3 years.
SK Drew at only 28 years old has already met and exceeded what many are able or willing to take on in helping to grow his Council, Assembly and our Order! |

SK Br. Michel Sassine |
|
His commitment and loyalty to the Order is without question impressive.
He served as a Grand Knight in 2009-2010, was appointed to the position of District Deputy from 2015 through 2017.
He then accepted the role of our Faithful Captain 2019, again through 2022 and was acclaimed for another term through June of 2023.
Last year when we reactivated our formal Honour Guard, he led the charge supported by many of our Officers to join accepting the new uniform and has been a leading supporter of the guard since.
He continues to serve as the District Deputy having returned to this position in 2020 and in his spare time – he continues to be active at his home Council at St. Peter`s serving as their Chancellor for the last several years.
A proud and distinguished Catholic gentleman, an honest, hardworking family man and a credit to his family, his Council our Assembly and the Knights of Columbus as a whole.
I know everyone will join me in congratulating SK Michel Sassine as the 2022 Knight of the Year of the Dean Wagner Assembly.

SK Br. Francesco (Frank) Gualtieri |
|
S.K. Paul Brownlie had the pleasure of presenting the Sir Knight of the Year Award to S.K. Francesco (Frank) Gualtieri at our June general meeting. S.K. Frank has served our Assembly faithfully since he was exemplified 13 years ago. He has served as our Faithful Comptroller for the last 10 years and is beginning his 11th term in this key position.
S.K. Frank has been a Knight since joining Holy Family Council 4386 in 2007. Beyond his commitment to our Order he serves his parish at St. Angela Merici as a member of their Parish Council. This recognition of S.K. Frank is very well deserved as a Sir Knight who demonstrates his commitment to our Order, his Church and his Family! I know in my time here with our Assembly, I have come to know S.K. Frank as a model Knight, a true Catholic gentleman and family man, who supports our Order’s 4 Founding Principals of Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism.
