Every few years, the Knights of Columbus selects an icon of a saint whose patronage is particularly inspiring to Knights and their communities. These icons travel from council to council and serve as the centerpieces for prayer services in parishes throughout the Order. Coral Gables Council #3274, with the assistance of the Fr. Andrew Brown Assembly Color Corp, exhibited a 2021-22 St. Joseph icon for veneration at the Church of the Little Flower on Sunday the 27th of February. Sir Knight Honor Guards posted beside the St. Joseph icon before and after Mass as venerating parishioners recited the following prayer to St. Joseph derived from the Apostolic Letter of Pope Francis on the 150th Anniversary of the Proclamation of St. Joseph as Patron of the Universal Church, which was printed in the church bulletin.
Hail Guardian of the Redeemer, Spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary. To you God entrusted his only Son; in you Mary placed her trust; with you Christ became a man. Blessed Joseph, to us too, show yourself a father and guide us in the path of life. Obtain for us grace, mercy and courage, and defend us from every evil. Amen. |
