Fourth-Degree Exemplification
Fourth-Degree Exemplification
Exemplification of the Fourth Degree will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025. At St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 800 W Loma Linda Blvd, Goodyear, Arizona. The ceremony and the banquet are OPEN to Family. I will be in attendance with all our candidates.
The future of St. Steven’s Assembly depends upon growth, as my father did with his father, as I did with mine. We need to replace ourselves. The St. Steven’s Assembly is dependent on Father John Arens Council #9678, third-degree knights. I am asking you, my brother knight, to become a member of the fourth degree, the highest and final degree of our order.
The Fourth Degree is often known as ‘The Patriotic Degree’.
St. Steven’s Assembly Values
- Proudly Serving the Country
Knights of the Patriotic Degree glorify God by serving our communities and nations as though Christ were the one being served.
- Unwavering Support of the Faith
Knights of the Patriotic Degree hold unwaveringly to what is right and honorable, working to keep God in the civic arena, serving the life of the Church, and defending laws that recognize the sanctity of life and true religious liberty.
For most men who follow Jesus, there comes a time when duty extends beyond our own lives, beyond how we lead our families, and into how we serve our fellow man. That's what the Knights of Columbus is all about. The Patriotic Degree allows Knights to take this one step further. "Sir Knight" is more than a title. It's an honor!
There is more to being a Fourth-Degree member of the Knights of Columbus than a uniform. They are the men who have chosen to embrace the Order’s fourth principle of patriotism, the men who lead the efforts to reach out to veterans and active military and to embody the fact that one can be a faithful Catholic and also be a faithful citizen.
Questions I receive about joining the Fourth Degree.
“I just can’t attend two meetings a month!” Like the Third Degree, the monthly meetings are not mandatory. Work and home life are important, and we stress that the Family comes first. We do ask that you attend a meeting a few times a year.
“If I do become a member of the fourth Degree, do I have to purchase the Uniform?” No, the Color Corps is an ELECTIVE division of the Fourth Degree.
“If I do purchase the fourth Degree Uniform, will I be required to attend all the call-outs?” No, it would be nice if you could attend several a year.

Thank you for considering becoming a brother, Sir Knight.
