Who are the Assembly 4th Degree Knights?
Who are the Fourth Degree Knights?
The Patriotic Degree reminds us of our duty to God and Country.
Members who wish to live out patriotism together can join the “Fourth Degree” of the Knights of Columbus. The four guiding principles are: Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism.
Knights Of Columbus council members have learned the principles of Charity, Unity & Fraternity upon their joining a local council. When you join the 4th Degree Assembly # 2126 based here at St. Helen, our brothers wear blue polo shirts and name badges. Some in the Assembly purchase the Honor Guard uniform, this is optional, acting as honor guards and color corps team or standing in respect at the funerals of members and performing a Chalice Ceremony or during adoration of the Eucharist. Many times, the HG attends functions presided by the bishop.
The Serving Those Who Served program is a major initiative of the Fourth Degree supporting Veterans Affairs facilities. There are more than 3,500 Fourth Degree Assemblies around the world.
“It is important, particularly in this day and age, that the Fourth Degree Assemblies encourage active Catholic citizenship and foster the spirit of patriotism in our members and the community at large,” Supreme Master Dennis Stoddard said.
He further stated, “The fourth principal “Patriotism”, commits our members to the preservation of our Church, our Order and to the many causes the Knights serve.”
