County Wide Picnic
Summer Spectacular Family BBQ
District 70 is hosting a picnic for all councils and assemblies in Broward County on Saturday August 12th from noon - 5:00. This will be a gala event with a presence of numerous civic organizations. The picnic will benefit Special Olympics Broward County. Other charities supported by the Knights will be in attendance as well including Respect Life and Habitat for Humanity. Numerous raffle items have been donated including sports memorabilia from the Dolphins, Marlins and Panthers. And the Hard Rock Casino has kicked in with a basket valued at $1,000.
The event is open to Knights, family, parishioners, neighbors, friends, co-workers, EVERYONE. Tickets are being sold through the Ed O'Neil Assembly and will help to support our work. For information call SK Pete Chiaravalle at 954-990-6203. |

Marlins vs Padres Game
Hold the Date for another fun filled professional sports event that has the Florida Marlins teaming with the Florida State Knights of Columbus. Join with families and friends as the Edward A. O'Neil Assembly 1534 will host the game on Saturday, August 26th at Marlins Park. The Marlins will play against the San Diego Padres. Assemblies from Broward County will form a Color Corps to salute the flag for the National Anthem. Pricing and bus location information will be forthcoming. Special Olympics Receives check
DGK 5971 Gary Blandino presents a check to Linda Mills, Director of Special Olympics Broward County. The check represents the proceeds from the Florida Panthers game sponsored by the Ed O'Neil Assembly to benefit Special Olympics. Brother Gary and his wife Diane were among the brother Knights who attended. |

Antique Car Show
The first ever antique car show hosted by the Ed O'Neil Assembly was held on Saturday March 19th at St. Malachy Church on University Ave. The weather was perfect and the cars were terrific. See more photos in the Photo gallery section of this site. |

Knights at Panthers
Gk Danial Diaz, FS Mike Fortwengler and FC Pete Chiaravalle enjoyed a Florida Panthers game as representatives of the Knights. The Panthers held an appreciation event for all the groups who participated in their games this year. For the 2017-2018 season the Knights are working with the Panthers to sponsor a series of games to benefit Special Olympics. Discussions are also underway to host a shoot out with local you and Special Athletes. |

St. Patrick's Day Parade
Faithful Captain Pete Chiaravalle and his wife Patty joined Knights from Council 3080 to march in the Fort Lauderdale St. Patrick's Day Parade. The parade went for several blocks along Las Olas Blvd. There were a number of Knights among the spectators who, along with the crowd gave an appreciative welcome to the Knights. Plans are being developed already for next year to increase the Knights' presence by entering a float that will highlight the many programs the Knights support. |

2017 Special Olympics Broward County Summer Games
On Saturday March 4th the annual Summer Games for Special OLympics Beroward County were held at Cardinal Gibbons High School in Fort Lauderdale. The Ed O'Neil Color Corps led the athletes onto the field for the opening ceremonies. Other Knights and their wives helped with the food concession and several games. It is always a heartwarming experience to work with the athletes. They truly help to show the intrinsic worth of every human being. For additional pictures of the games go to the photo gallery. |

Orange Bowl Food Celebration to benefit Make a Wish

The Orange Bowl Food and Wine Celebration is coming up on Friday, May 19th, at the Broward County Convention Center. The Orange Bowl Committee is an NPO and puts its proceeds back in to the community through various projects and charities. This event specifically benefits the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the Special Olympics, among our own projects. In fact, the Make-A-Wish Foundation will be unveiling an upcoming wish to a recipient at the event.
A few things to note:

Assembly helps Veterans
On Friday July 8 at the William "Bill " King Veteran's Administration Unit in Sunrise Florida the Edward A. O'Neil Assembly donated $500 for the VAVS (Veteran's Administration Volunteer Services) Fund. This money is to help take care of any services for veterans not covered by the government.
