The History of Notre Dame Assembly #2144
Subject: History of Notre Dame Assembly
Notre Dame Assembly was chartered by The Supreme Council on July 31st
1988 St. Joseph Assembly Farmers Branch, Tx. Because there were already two other St. Joseph Assemblies in the Third District, and the resulting confusion, it was decided that the name be changed. The Faithful Navigator at the time wrote to Fr. Malloy, then president of Notre Dame for permission to use Notre Dame as our Assembly. We received the okay and in August of 1991 we officially became The Notre Dame Assembly Farmers Branch, Tx. Our first Faithful Navigator was Sir Knight Timothy Kelly of Council #5052 Farmers Branch, Tx. The initial councils in the Assembly were #5052 and #3593 in Oak Cliff,Tx.
