Metrano Castro Paz, baptized into the hope of Christ's resurrection, Tuesday, September 5, 2017. He was born January 31, 1929 in the Philippines to Angela and Irineo Paz. He graduated in Geodetic Engineering and was a Government Scholar at University of the Philippines in 1951, and graduated in Civil Engineering at Mapua Institute of Technology of the Philippines in 1956.

He married Fe Ella on April 9, 1960, and they had 4 children; Melissa (Paul) Szczepan, Eric Paz, Mercedes (David) Stone and Peggy (David) Bagnoli. They had 10 grandchildren a 2 step-grandchildren: Ashley, Cori, Andrew, Chris, Michael, Elena, Vincent, Gabrielle, Teresa, Gregory, Brandon and Sophia, and 1 great-grandchild, Evan. He is survived by his siblings, Atty Tolomeo of the Philippines, Gertrudis Paz Pilar and Andrea Paz of Florida. He is preceded in death by Constancio, Miguel, Eusebio and Irineo, Jr.

He came to the United States on April 17, 1974, where he lived in Chicago for 10 years, he also lived in Virginia and Washington, D.C. before settling in Missouri. He worked as a civil engineer for many different companies where he made lasting friendships.

His faith was an important part of his life. He was a devout Catholic and attended mass daily until recently. He served in St. Raymond of Peñafort's Grand Knights of Columbus and volunteered as an usher at the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.

He enjoyed gardening, cooking, playing games and spending time with his family. He loved watching and cheering on his grandchildren at their selected sports or events. He always made sure his family had the very best things in life. He also taught them the true meaning of F.A.M.I.L.Y. - Father - And - Mother - I - Love - You!

Services: Funeral Service at the SCHRADER Funeral Home and Crematory, 14960 Manchester Road at Holloway, Ballwin, Thursday, 11:30 a.m. A memorial service will be held at a later date at Church of the Annunciation, 3810 Massachusetts Ave. NW, Washington, D.C. Lunch will follow in the Parish Center after the service.
