ROLAND P FAUCHER

 

Springfield, Virginia: Roland P. Faucher, 91, formerly of St. Joseph Avenue, Fitchburg and Dallas Texas, died unexpectedly Sunday, May 21, 2017, at his home. His wife of 64 years, Leona G. (Rheault) Faucher, died in December 2014. Mr. Faucher was born in Worcester, September 23, 1925, the son of Phillip and Bell (Thibodeau) Faucher and grew up in Worcester, MA. During WW II he served his country in the United States Navy as a Coxswain Third Class Petty Officer.
He served as the Treasurer to the St. Joseph's PTA and was a former member of the Fredericksburg, VA Knights of Columbus. He along with his wife Lee loved to travel and visited all 50 states, seven Canadian Providences and several European and Asian countries. Mr. Faucher worked as the Contracting Officer for the Army and Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) at Fort Devens, MA, Cameron Station, VA and Dallas, TX and retired to Fredericksburg, VA in 1987.
He leaves two daughters, Rhonda A. Hill of Townsend and Debra S. Mayeux of Springfield, VA; son-in-law Stephen D. Hill; five grandchildren, Mark S. Hill, Rebecca L. Hill, Christina L. Ilg, Leslie F. Simpson, Amy S. Kerster; three great grandchildren, Sophia L. Ilg, Graham S. Kerster and Riley H. Hill. Arrangements A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Tuesday, May 30, 2017, at ST. Joseph's Church, 316 Clarendon Street, Fitchburg. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
Mr. Faucher's family will receive family and friends from 9:30- 10:30 AM at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 30th before Mass.
