Obituary: J. Glenn Steinbacher passed away on November 17, 2016. He was raised in Kansas City, Missouri, along with his younger brother. He came to be known as Glenn early on to distinguish him from his father Joe whom he assisted in his furrier business. Glenn joined the Navy and served in the Philippines after graduating from Bishop Hogan High School in 1944. Following the Navy, he earned a Chemistry degree from Rockhurst College. Shortly after college he went on a momentous double-date, which sparked an important chemical reaction - the start of his relationship with Arvilla. They married in June 1952, moved from Kansas City to Phoenix, then to Battle Creek and finally settled in Annandale, Virginia. There they proudly raised their eight children. He worked for Mitre from 1966 until his retirement in 1993. Throughout those years he guided all of "his people" along their journeys instilling his joyous laughter, faith & quiet strength. We know he is happy to rejoin Arvilla in their eternal home, preparing to welcome the rest of his clan |
